No open screening for Lobi Stars, Says Imenger

Lobi Stars Team Manager Banarbas Imenger has said that the club is not conducting an open or secret trial in their pre-season training camp in Ijebu-Ode. The ex-international disclosed to SportingLens.blogspot.com that such an exercise is not only outdated but nothing good can come out of it.
Imenger stressed that only invited players by the technical crew led by Godwin Uwua are part of the team’s training camp in Ijebu Ode.

“With the status of the club in Nigerian football and professionalism of the board and management, it does not make sense in conducting such an archaic exercise,” Imenger told SportingLens.blogspot.com.

“Besides the technical department headed by Godwin Uwua has done a fantastic job by retaining 90 percent of the players for consistency and have also penciled down just few players discovered during the league last season. We are not accepting recommended players from anybody,” He insisted.

Imenger also praised the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, for funding and support the team while commending the club’s vice chairman for good policies.

He, however, expressed disappointment with some of his backroom staff who is fighting for positions, power as well as recognition thereby, causing division, disunity, hatred and suspicion in the team.

“As club’s manager I will no longer tolerate such behaviours and a severe punishment will be meted out to anybody culpable of wrong doing. Thank God the board has approved my proposal for roles to be properly defined to prevent conflict of interest among members.”
