Wikki Tourists embark on Christmas, New Year break

The management of Wikki Tourists has given its players and officials Christmas and New Year break until January 2 2019, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.

According to the club’s media officer, Nasiru Kobi, the break was declared to enable the players celebrate yuletide season with their family.

Kobi also revealed to Sportinglens.blogspot.com that the team could be forced to cut short their break if there is an indication for the resumption of the league.

“If we receive information from the League Management Company (LMC) about the commencement of the league we may call our players back on December 27. But we are to resume on January 2 in continuation of our preparation for the commencement of the league,” Kobi said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.

“We had series of friendly matches since we resumed and we have made some certain progress in our team. We have been able to blend our new and old players together with the series of friendly mages we played. We have also noticed some areas we need to make adequate correction before the league kick off.”

Kobi has however pleaded with the chieftains of the League Management Company (LMC) to work out a modality for the commencement of the league.

“The delay in the resumption of the league is not a good Omen for the players and coaches. So I am appealing to the league organizers to do everything possible to ensure that we start the league in conformity with CAF rules and regulations without delay.”
