Lobi Stars Team Manager,
Barnabas Imenger has exclusively revealed to NationSport that Nanen Imenger has
parted ways with Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi.
Nanen joined
Lobi Stars three seasons ago after returning from Sweden where he signed with
Swedish side Trelleborgs FF in August 2012 for a six-month contract.
Imenger
senior said the former Kwara United forward want a new environment to explore
his God-given talents.
“Nenen would
have left last season but the club’s vice-chairman Mike Idoko pleaded with me to
allow him to play for Lobi Stars for another season and as a mark of respect
for Idoko, I agreed. He (Nanen) signed another season’s free loan deal and at
the end of last season, his chapter with Lobi Stars has ended for now.
“I want to
state here categorically that he has always on free loan deal with Lobi Stars
and he is not a property of Lobi Stars. He has over stayed in Makurdi and he
wants a new environment,” Imenger Senior told NationSport.
The
ex-international also stressed that he is not Nanen’s agent but he started
guiding him after a shady deal was arranged for him when he moved to Sweden.
“I decided
to be monitoring his progress and advising him after a shady transfer was
prepared for him when he moved to Sweden. I can say that his three seasons at
Lobi Stars was a success. He has contributed so much. He had best scoring ratio
than any attacker in Lobi. He scored seven goals in eleven matches last
season.”
