Bauchi State
Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has handed a continental ticket mandate to
Wikki Tourists FC ahead of the commencement of the 2018/2019 season,

Governor
Abubakar made the charge when he hosted the management, players and technical
crew of the club who visited him at the Government House Bauchi on Thursday to
present the Ahlan pre- season runners up trophy won recently in Kano State.
The governor
said, “It has always been my dream for the team to win a continental ticket and
I will support you hugely if you achieve. Wikki Tourists have huge history in
local football and we have to sustain the tempo that is why our
administration's support to sports was a deliberate policy aimed at engaging
teeming unemployed youth to earn a living.”
The
governor, who said he was not aware of the outstanding bonuses, owed the
players, promised to offset the bills and continue payment of players’ salaries
regularly.
The club’s
chairman, Auwalu Babajada commended the Governor for his support to the club.
Babajada,
who enumerated the team’s achievements recorded since the Governor came to
power, to include qualifying for continental in 2016, Shehu Dikko Pre-season
trophy and Ahlan pre-season Cup runners up trophy.
He used the
medium to request for vehicles for the chairman and technical adviser which was
approved by the governor.
