Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Football Club coach Tony Bolus has revealed that he keeps in touch with his players through the team’s whatsapp group to do their normal fitness training every day.

The Olukoya Boys occupying 13 position on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) log with 31 points after 25 matches before the league went on break due to Corona Virus pandemic.

Bolus, who admitted that it has not been easy to cope without football activities due to the lockdown, told SportingLife that he posted daily training program for the players on the group.

“It has not been easy to cope during this period without football but we are trying everything to ensure that we maintain players’ fitness level. We have a whatsapp group and we have our training for two hours every day. Everybody join the group for two to four hours. We shared ideas on the group and we give program that players do indoor and posted it to the group,” Bolus told SportingLife.

The former Rangers International coach added that he is using the break to review the team’s performances so far this season and also learning new tactics about the game.

“The break also gives me time to go through our games and see what to improve on the team. It’s also giving me opportunity to make lots of research about the game, passing drills and scoring drills. One needs to keep leaning to improve on the job,” he added.

The League Management Committee (LMC) suspended the league until further notice over the outbreak of the COVID-19.

Plateau United has set up four points lead in the title race before the break with 49 points ahead of Rivers United which are in second position with 45 points.

Bolus is uncertain whether to declare Plateau United champions if the season isn't finished.

“I wish we could go on with the league but it depends on when this is going to be over but we have something in mind to start at the same time with Europe next season. If we take long playing, we won’t have time to get ready for the next season,” he concluded.
