It has been claimed by Spanish radio station RAC1 on their
programme Tu Diras that all seven positive tests occurred when the pandemic
first hit Spain.
The players and staff were said to be asymptomatic when the
club carried out blood tests and the results were then kept quiet as Spain went
into lockdown.
La Liga is set to resume later this month and no one from
Barcelona has tested positive so far in the checks carried out by the league,
indicating that everyone has fully recovered.
The first round of fixtures have been officially confirmed,
with football getting back underway with the Seville derby between Real Betis
and Sevilla.
Barcelona will get back underway with a trip to Mallorca on
June 13, with rivals Real Madrid hosting Eibar on June 14.
Lionel Messi has also opened up about the effects of COVID-19
and fears it will change football forever.
