Kano Pillars Head Coach Emmanuel Lionel Soccoia has chided Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi over the antics displayed during Sunday’s match day 11 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.
Austin
Ogunye’s 5th minute goal handed Lobi Stars victory in the encounter that earned
them their first win in six league matches.
The French
coach accused players of Lobi Stars of adopting delaying tactics by falling
down and feigning injuries, the attitude he said is not fit for any
professional standards.
Soccoia made it
clear that he felt their antics and “fake fouls” had been responsible for Kano
Pillars losing their rhythm as, after a promising start, they were beaten 1-0
by Lobi Stars.
Speaking
after the match, Soccoia said: "We can't play football here, in the second
half we just played five minutes and the rest of the game their players where
falling down. That's no football; we can't play football like that.
"They
got their goal in the fifth minutes, played good football but after that they
(Lobi Players) were falling on the pitch."
The result
moved Lobi stars to 8th position on the log with 16 points while Kano Pillars
with 20 points from 11 games occupies the third position.
Kano Pillars
will host Sunshine Stars of Akure in the mid-week game on Wednesday while Lobi
Stars will travel to Gombe for the game against Adamawa United.
