The League Management Company (LMC) has deducted three points from Kano Pillars already accrued points as a punishment for their fans’ unruly behavior during their matchday 23 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixture against Katsina United at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano on Saturday, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.

Kano Pillars fans invaded the pitch in the 82nd minute of the encounter with the game at 1-1 draw. The irate fans also damaged Katsina United team bus while some of the players’ phones and belongings were snatched.

According to a report, the league body also slammed Kano Pillars with a sum of nine millions naira fines for breaches of NPFL Rules.

Apart from three points deducted from their already accrued points, another three points deduction suspended till the end of the season in case of further breach.

However, Sani Abacha Stadium Kano has been banned from hosting NPFL games forthwith while the Pyramid City outfit will henceforth play their home matches at the MKO stadium Abuja.

LMC has also ordered that the inconclusive game to be continued /replayed in Abuja while Kano Pillars are to repair/replace damaged Katsina United FC team bus.

Pillars had been playing away from their home stadium in the past two years and were just given a reprieve by the LMC to return to their home ground, and the first game after they returned to the stadium ended in chaos.

They had played their home matches in Kaduna and Katsina states for most of the season.
