Doma United Technical Adviser, Akinade Onigbinde has showered praises on his players despite being held to a 1-1 draw at home by Sunshines Stars in their debut season in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe on Sunday.
Charlse Chibuke connected perfectly to Musa Usman’s freekick in the 39th minutes to head Doma United into the lead before Yusuf Ibrahim scored a late equalizer in the 90th minute, as the Savannah Tigers kicked start their campaign in the NPFL with a draw at home in the Group B of the abridge league.
Speaking
after the game Onigbinde said each player gave his best and believes that the
team will correct whatever was not done right in the game against Sunshine
Stars in their next game against Niger Tornadoes.
Onigbinde
said: “Our boys were superb, especially in the first half. They did their best
and every one of them did not relent. As you can see, we are all disappointed
with the result but we cannot dwell on that as we already have a game ahead
against Niger Tornadoes. We are preparing to go and pick our three points there Insha Allah. This is a lesson that everyone will go and sit down and think
about it.”
The
Gombe-based side will travel to Kaduna to face Niger Tornadoes in the second
game of the season on Wednesday.
