Coach Gbenga Ogunbote has tendered an apology to Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) fans, after failing to guide the team to the title play-off.
The manager
stated that the Oluyole Warriors paid the price for underperforming during the
first stanza of the campaign.
"The
first thing is to apologize to the supporters because much was expected from
us.
"we
seem to have it, but unfortunately, when the season started, we couldn't
replicate what we had in the preseason, due to some challenges in the form of
distractions, which did not allow the team to perform the way we expected.
"On
behalf of the team, I want to apologize for that and I want to thank the
Almighty God, that despite the fact that we were unable to realize our dreams,
we were not struggling, four games to the end of the season, we had already
avoided the drop, which was a plus for the team. It can always get
better".
3SC ended their league campaign with a home draw against record Champions Enyimba
of Aba.
“I want to
enjoin the fans to still have confidence in the team, God on our side, next
season will be better," stated the ex-Remo Stars' chief tactician.
