Gombe United
star left winger Abubakar Musa has been ruled of action for six weeks after undergone
a successful surgery on his Achilles tendon, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
The former Wikki
Tourists star, who can also play as a supporting striker, went under the knife last
week after rupturing his Achilles tendon during one of the team’s training
sessions.
The club’s
Media Officer, Halilu Mohammed Teli who confirmed the information to Sportinglens.blogspot.com said the surgery took place at Trinity Orthopaedic in Kano State
and he will be recuperating in the hospital for five weeks.
He added
that the club under Alh Ahmed Usman led management board paid all the financial
responsibility.
Sportinglens.blogspot.com understands that the former Heartland star was called up to the present U17
national team camp and his injury might hinder his chances of making the final
squad.
“He is a
versatile player, a game changer and very creative. He is his operating from
the left wing; also as a supporting striker. He joined us from Heartland. He got promoted to the Nigeria Professional Football
with Heartland and he was voted as player of the year at Heartland (3 times). He
also played for Rangers International and Wikki Tourists. He was called up to the
U 17 national team camp,” Teli said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
Gombe United
and other three promoted clubs will commence league matches from Match Day 3
after the joint emergency meeting of the League Management Company (LMC) with
the NPFL Club Owners agreed and approved additional time and special
concessions for the newly promoted clubs for registration.
