Super Eagles
technical adviser Gernot Rohr has confirmed that the Eagles’ striker Odion
Ighalo is currently negotiating a contract that will see him play in England or
Turkey, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
Ighalo has
been desperate to seek a move to Europe after his Chinese Super League side
Changchum Yatai finished second from bottom and were relegated to the Chinese
League One.
The 29-year
old striker joined Changchun Yatai from Watford in 2017.
Rohr stated
in a chat with Sportinglens.blogspot.com that Ighalo want to come back to Europe.
“Ighalo
still has contract with his club but I think he wants to come back to Europe.
He is trying at the moment to negotiate a contract in England or Turkey,” Rohr
said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
“I hope to
see him playing regularly again in a new club likewise the other players. They
have to be fit, play well and they have to play regularly. He did so well in
the last game for the national team and we hope that he comes back very soon.”
