Keshi goes home

Another big star falls off the firmament permanently as the remains of Nigeria football legend, Stephen Okechukwu Chinedu Keshi, are interred at his hometown, Illah, Delta State on Friday. The final rites began in Benin City, Edo State on Thursday with a one –hour church service at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church, off Airport Road, before lying-in-state at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, where Keshi played many matches for the New Nigeria Bank FC.

SAFA top officials mourn late Keshi

The South African Football Association (SAFA) President Dr Danny Jordaan, Bafana Bafana coach Ephraim Shakes Mashaba and Technical Director Neil Tovey have been left devastated by the untimely death of former Super Eagles of Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi.

One of African football’s best known individuals, Keshi (54) is suspected to have died of heart attack on Wednesday morning.

Keshi was the PSL's next coach

Stephen Keshi, the former Nigeria national football team captain and coach who died on Wednesday morning aged 54, had concrete offers from two PSL clubs, his agent, Tim Sukazi, has revealed.

"The Big Boss", as Keshi was referred to, suffered cardiac arrest while in Benin City, Nigeria. He’d become the subject of growing speculation that he would take over from Eric Tinkler at Orlando Pirates.

Keshi pleads for Giwa FC

Former Super Eagles Manager, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, has said he remains ever grateful for managing the national team, even as he said he will like a situation that encourages privately owned clubs in the country.
