Adeleye Adebayo, Chidozie Awaziem and Terem Moffi were recalled to the Super Eagles squad while Ahmed Musa was left out as Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle released a 31-man provisional list ahead of next month's World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr has called up a total of 30 players for next month’s opening rounds of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifying campaign, in which Nigeria will host Liberia in Lagos on Friday, 3rd September (Day 1) and tackle Cape Verde in Mindelo on Tuesday, 7th September (Day 2).
