Keshi pleads for Giwa FC

Former Super Eagles Manager, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, has said he remains ever grateful for managing the national team, even as he said he will like a situation that encourages privately owned clubs in the country.

Keshi, who said he is still in a mournful mood with reports linking him to a clubside in South Africa, declared that he wishes that the decision by the League Management Company be reconsidered as it directly affects a privately owned club.
“We want to encourage true professionalism and we can’t do it by fighting ourselves. I think we should fin
d a middle road in everything we do so that Nigerian football can move forward.”

He said the ban on Giwa FC of Jos, should be re-examined by the LMC, noting that with only two clubsides Giwa FC, Ifeanyi Uba FC owned by individuals and Ikorodu United and MFM fc owned by a church, there was need to encourage private ownership in line with FIFA, CAF and NFF statutes.
