Mikel's current deal at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in the summer of 2017.

Chelsea had Mikel to thank for their goal against PSG in 2-1 defeat during the UEFA Champions League clash on Tuesday in Paris.
Mikel, 28, joined the West Londoners from Norwegian side Lyn Oslo in 2006.
