one of the friendly matches’ line up for the team before the restart of the
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
The defeat to Kaduna United was Pillars’ first loss in the seven tune-up matches played so far since the League Management Company (LMC) suspended the league. The Pyramid City outfit played seven matches; won four, drawn 1 and lost 1.
Samsion Pius netted two goals while Elijah
John scored one goal in a 3-1 rout over the former league champions. Adamu
Hassan scored a consolation for Kano Pillars.
The Sai Masu
Gida had played so many Grade A friendly matches as a way to keep the players
fit for the league resumption.
The Kano
based side came out victorious in the previous games played against Kada Stars
from Kaduna 1-0 and Jidano FC of Kano 4-1 while played a 1-1 draw against
Jigawa Golden Stars.
In a chat
with Sportinglens.blogspot.com, the club’s Media Officer, Idris Malikawa said the team’s
loss defeat to Kaduna United will help the technical crew led by Ibrahim Musa
to correct their mistakes before the league resumption.
“The
friendly matches are part of the preparation for the league resumption. So with
what happened against Kaduna United, we are now realising where we have
mistakes and any players who is not ready to do his job with seriousness can step aside. The
technical crew should study where they have problems for necessary action
before the league resumption. The friendly matches will sustain the
relationship between Kano and Kaduna as well as other neighbouring states,”
Malikawa said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
