Players and
officials of the Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi are intensifying preparation for
the re-start of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) despite the crisis in the Nigeria football, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
The League
Management Company (LMC) suspended the NPFL due to the leadership tussle in the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The club’s Media Officer, Bala Kurba said the players and technical crew are engaging in training activities every day except Sunday,stressing that they are in good shape for the league resumption.
Kurba added
that the management has also organized top class friendly matches for the Big
Elephants to keep them in shape.
He informed that his team had
played seven friendly matches which was successfully won with ease.
The coach
Bala Nikyu tutored side thrashed Younger Generation FC of Bauchi 4-0, ABJ Academy 5-0, DASS United
9-0, Babao Academy of Jos 1-0, 3SC of Bauchi 2-1 and Shinkafi United 5-0.
“We have been playing some friendly matches to
keep our players in shape and we are eager to resume the league. We have played seven friendly games to keep our player very fit and we won it all. It is
part of the preparation for the league resumption and everything is in order in
our team. I can also tell you that our players are getting their entitlement as
at when due,” Kurba said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
On the NFF
crisis, he added: “Our fans in Bauchi are worried about the development in the NFF but our General Manager, Auwalu Baba Jada is always tell them that they should
be calm and all will be well in the Nigeria football family very soon.”
Kurba also told Sportinglens.blogspot.com that his side will engage Jigawa Golden Stars in another friendly encounter on Thursday.
