Abia Warriors defender, Adeleke Adekunle has said that he will justify his inclusion to the Super Eagles.
Adekunle,
was handed invitation to the national team by the Head Coach, Gernot Rohr ahead
of next week Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin republic and
Lesotho, as replacement for Kenneth Omeruo who pulled out of the squad after his
club CD Leganes stopped him from attending the game.
In a chat
with sportingLife, the former Delta Force defender said he is happy to be in
the national team and he will not take the opportunity for granted.
“I am happy
and very grateful to God for this opportunity because it is the wish of every
player to play in the national team. If giving the opportunity I will give a
good account of myself,” Adekunle told SportingLife.
Adekunle is
the third home-based player to be invited into the squad after the Enyimba duo
of John Noble and Anayo Iwuala.
