Super Eagles manger Gernot Rohr has hinted that he would not extend any invitation to new player for the team’s Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers which start in June, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.

Rohr made this known in Lagos after guiding the Super Eagles to their 19th Africa Cup of Nations finals slated for Cameroon in 2022 with an impressive qualifying campaign.

Nigeria were unbeaten in the AFCON qualifiers with four wins and two draws, emerging Group L winners with 14 points.

The Franco-German tactician said the World Cup qualifiers will be a serious campaign, insisting that Eagles want to continue to be the best.

“The World Cup qualifiers will start very soon and I think we will be able to do well. We should expect a good football again and good pitch I hope. Lagos did very well but still have to improve; it was not easy because of the traffic. We cannot try new players now. It is too late now because it is a very serious World Cup qualification,” Rohr said

“The record of our results is very good. We are unbeaten in all our away games in the qualifiers which is very wonderful. It is a record and it is a nice one. We have to continue and we want to always be the best but sometimes you can make results but you cannot always win all your matches.”

“In AFCON qualifiers, we had four win and two draws, the same result just like in the last World Cup qualifiers. Even now we qualified before the last two games. It is interesting that we do our job and we were efficient. We thank Nigerians for the support; even after the two draws we had a lot of Nigerians still supported us.”

Nigeria have been drawn in group C alongside Liberia, Cape Verde, Central African Republic in round two of the African Qualifiers.

Only ten group winners advance to the final round, where a two-on-two tie will decide the five African World Cup representatives.
