Akwa United
goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo believes his side can comeback from their 1-2 home loss
to Gambia’s Banjul Hawks and win convincingly when the two sides meet in a CAF
Confederation Cup preliminary round second leg match on Wednesday, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
Goals from Mohammed
Jallow and Lamin Charity in the first leg in Uyo gave the Hawks away win
advantage. Victor Mboama scored a consolation for the Promise Keepers.
But in a
chat with Sportinglens.blogspot.com, Olorunleke admitted that the game will be tough for his
side but he stressed that they are going to Banjul with the mindset to
win.
“Our fans should
be expecting something good from us in Banjul. It is very unfortunate that we
lost the first leg at home. We have put the loss behind us and we are focusing
on the next game. I can assure you that it won’t affect us. They came here and they
won. They were lucky to run away with three points and we are going there too
with the mindset that we are going to win. We still need our fans support and
they should not give up on us,” Olorunleke told Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
He added: “We
are going to approach the game in another manner because you can’t expect us to
play the same pattern we play at home and in the away match. We are going there
to make name for ourselves and the country. To me I believe we are all equal
and every player on the pitch is equal to the task. The most important thing is to play and win. Off
cause, it is going to be tough just like what they did to us in Uyo. We are
also ready for the task.”
