Manchester United youngster Tosin Kehinde is in talks with
the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) about representing the Super Eagles,
sources have told ESPN FC.
Kehinde,
19, was born in Lagos but raised in the UK and is eligible to play for either
Nigeria or England.
Sources have
told ESPN FC that the midfielder and his representatives met Nigeria coach
Gernot Rohr and NFF vice-president Seyi Akinwunmi on Sunday.
The meeting
raises the possibility that Kehinde, a regular for United's under-23s this
season, could be included in the Nigeria squad for the World Cup.
He has yet
to make a senior appearance for United, although he has trained with Jose
Mourinho's first-team squad.
The NFF has
not confirmed whether Kehinde has made himself available for Nigeria, but
sources said it is planned that a statement will be released this week.
Nigeria play
Serbia in a friendly on Tuesday before facing England in a World Cup warm-up
match on June 2.
