Head coach of the national U23 team, Imama Amapakabo has invited 23 players for the double-header games against Libya, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.

The Dream Team VII will begin their quest to pick AFCON U23 ticket against Libya in the second round of the qualifiers on Wednesday in Tunisia and on Monday in Asaba.

Team contingent departed through Lagos this morning to Tunisia.

Taiwo Awoniyi and samuel Chukwueze lead the pack of the foreign-based players invited for the clash.

Other notable players include former Golden Eaglets captain Kelechi Nwakali, Azubuike Okechukwu, Chidera Ezeh.

Nigeria is the defending champion of the Africa U23 Cup of Nations, having defeated Algeria in the final of the second edition of the championship staged by Senegal in December 2015. That triumph earned the Olympic Eagles a ticket to the Men’s Football Tournament of the Rio 2016 Olympics, where they won the bronze medal – Nigeria’s only medal at the Games.
