The
management of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi has terminated contracts of three
players for unimpressed performances, Sportinglens.blogspot.com can report.
The club’s
Media Officer Nasiru Kobi, who confirmed the development to
Sportinglens.blogspot.com, said the players were given their disengagement
letters on Tuesday.
According to
Kobi, the players are two strikers Mohammed Mohammed and Ahmed Abdultaofik and
a defender Abayomi Asekunlowo.
Sportinglens.blogspot.com
reports that Mohammed and Abdultaofik were featured in three matches each since
they joined the Big Elephants at the beginning of the season. They came on as
substitutes in two occasions while they were unused substitutes for the third
match.
Asekunlowo,
who left the Bauchi-based side to play for Dolphins, Rivers United and Akwa
United before returning to the club at the beginning of this season, has not
played any game for the team this season.
“The players
joined the club at the beginning of the 2018/2019 NPFL Season but failed to
impress the club. They were given some chances in the league but they are
unable to justify their inclusion in the team,” Kobi told Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
“The club
which is occupying the 8 position in the group A abridged NPFL table and the
team is in dire need of a top strikers. And I can confirm to you that the
management has gone searching to replace the disengaged players with quality
strikers.”
