The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) have revealed that the Player of The Year Award ceremony will not be holding this year.
CAF'S
decision was coming barely two months after UEFA, Europe's soccer governing cancelled the 2020 football award ceremony due
to the coronavirus pandemic that disrupted the football season across the
world.
CAF took the
option to cancel the event at its executive committee meeting held yesterday
via video-conference to discuss the future of competitions and key matters
related to the development of the game.
Egyptian and
Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah won the last award beating club mate and
Senegalese international Sadio Mane and Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick
Aubameyang.
