Plateau United have been handed injury boost ahead of the 2020/2021 football season as the trio of Daniel Itodo, Mike Zaruma and Saeed Jibrin have resumed training after a lengthy injury lay-off, Sportinglens.blogspot.com can reveal.

Itodo, Zaruma and Jibrin resumed training with the rest of the squad for the first on Monday after months on the treatment table.

Itodo was out of the team after sustaining injury during the tie against Dakkada FC in Uyo while Zaruma didn't make the team again after featuring for the club against Nasarawa United in Lafia, early last season where he picked up the injury.

Also, Jibrin took no part in the team’s activities last season after returning from the African games with an ankle injury where he featured for the nation’s U-20 team.

The club’s Media Officer, Albert Dakup, said their return will add depth into the team.

"They are coming to the team at the right time. They occupying crucial role in the team and definitely they will add depth into the team," Dakup told SportingLife.

he added: "Itodo has always been one of our undisputable players; he has quality that we always benefited from. He is a long throwing specialist and he is a good player.  Zaruma always gives his best to the team when he is on the field of play before his injury.

“We couldn’t utilize Jibrin services last season due to his injury he picked up when he represented the country in African game for the under-20 team, he is a utility winger and we will benefit from his attacking prowess, most especially that we are playing in the continental competition. I hope that they will blend well with other players and give the club the best this season."

SportingLife reports that the old players resumed on Monday for the 2020/2021 season after long break due to Covid 19 pandemic while the newly recruited players are expected in the camp next week.

Seven players were dropped by the club while eight were recruited for the coming season.
