Reps takes NFF case to Speaker

…Says Giwa’s court case indisputable

As the battle for the soul of Nigerian football rages, the House of Representatives Committee on Sports headed by Hon. Bukar Goni Lawal, has said it cannot adjudicate on the matter that is presently before the Nigerian Judiciary.

At a meeting on Tuesday that had Ambassador Chris Giwa and Melvin Amju Pinnick and their teams in attendance, Lawal reportedly told them in unmistakable terms that it was time to sheathe swords but the Judiciary must first hands-off the case for that to happen.

His comments are coming after days of rumours that the case was never before any court of law in Nigeria and that the Ambassador Giwa has been going about with fake documents from courts unknown. The latest refrain from the House of Representatives has now put the lies to rest.

The Reps also declared that after listening to both parties in the crisis, it has resolved to make a bold and passionate appeal to the Speaker of the House Of Reps, Hon Yakubu Dogara, on the way forward for the management of Nigerian football.

On his part, Giwa said he was so far impressed with the party played by the House of Reps, declaring that his ultimate interest is the growth of Nigerian football.

He noted that he was not happy with the performance of the Dream Team V1 at the recently concluded Suwon Invitational Tournament , but noted that hope was not lost for the team in the coming Olympic Games in Rio De JaNeirio, Brazil, in August.

“We believe the team will not only do well in Rio but will shock the world by winning the ultimate Gold Medal there. All we need at the moment is support for the team and its technical crew headed by Samson Siasia”, he declared.
