Wikki maintain top spot, hold Heartland in Owerri

Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi secured a vital away point in the Match Day 22 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash against Heartland FC at the Dan Ayam Stadium, Owerri on Sunday to maintain top spot in the league.

The Bauchi-based outfit now has 40 points from 21 matches, same as Rivers United, who trounced MFM FC 4-1 in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
In another matches played on Sunday Enugu Rangers stumbled 2-0 defeat to Plateau United in Jos while Enyimba lost 1-0 to Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, Kano Pillars were held to a 2-2 draw by Warri Wolves to dent a blow to Sai Masu Gida title chase.

Nasarawa United put its disappointing mid-week loss to MFM behind them, and produced a scintillating performance against Ifeanyi Ubah. The coach Kabiru Dogo-tutored side trashed FC Ifeanyi Ubah 4-2 at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.

Sunshine Stars put one behind Lobi Stars at the Akure Township Stadium. At the Onikan Stadium, Lagos, Akwa United compounded Ikorodu United woes as the Oga Boys failed to get three points in the match. The Promised Keepers held Oga Boys to a 1-1 draw.

In Maiduguri, El Kanemi Warriors maintain its home winning streak by defeating Abia Warrior  2-0 to the delight of the home fans.
