Plateau
United head coach Kennedy Boboye has expressed his disappointment over his
team's performances despite their 2-1 win against USM Alger in the first leg
CAF Confederation Cup play-off match at the Agege Stadium on Saturday, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
King Osaga
opened scoring for Plateau United in the 19th minute before Ben Yaya Faouza
equalised for Alger in the 56 minutes. Emma James scored the winners for the
hosts in the 73rd minute.
Speaking
after the match, Boboye said his team wasted so many scoring opportunities and that
was responsible for their slim win over USM Alger.
He said the
team will not relent on their efforts to get a good result in the second leg in
Algeria in two weeks time.
"I am
not really happy with the outcome of the match. We didn't utilize our chances
well which was responsible for our slim win. If we had converted our chances we
could have scored so many goals. We will go back home to continue our hard work
and look at the areas where we have to make corrections and improve on
it," Boboye said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
The former
Sunshine Stars of Akure manager said that playing away from their home ground
did not have anything to do with the result against USM Alger.
"Lagos
is Nigeria and Nigeria belongs to everybody. I don't think playing away from
home has nothing to do with outcome of the match. We can play anywhere. All we
need to do is to get it right wherever we play our game."
