FC IfeanyiUbah striker, Godwin Obaje is still confident that Anambra Warriors would be among the
top-team finisher at the end of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football
League (NPFL) season despite their unimpressive performance in the league,
Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
The former NPFL highest
goal scorer admitted in a chat with Sportinglens.blogspot.com that the team’s
current result in the league was not their planned for the season.
“The team is not doing badly but it is not the
result we wanted. We had a good plan before the commencement of the season and
I don’t think we have meet up to that target now.
“We have dropped four
points at home this season against Akwa United and Abia Warriors and we are
looking forward to improve on our away games to recover those points we lost at
home,” Obaje said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
The former Wikki Tourists
goal-poacher said that he and his colleagues understand what is expected of
them and they will do everything to change the situation for better.
“I still believe that the
league is still open for every team to win it. The point between the top team
and the middle team are very slim and anything team can come up if you garner
more points. We are looking towards the second round of the season and ensure
that we secure more points to boost our position on the log. There is so much
expectation from the team and we are working seriously to change the position
of the team for better.”
FC Ifeanyi Ubah are in the 14th position on the log with 18 points after 14 games.
