Kano Pillars will sign two more defenders, says Musa

By Taofeek Babalola

Kano Pillars technical adviser, Ibrahim Musa has said that his side will sign two additional central defenders during the mid transfer window of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), SportingLife.ng can reveal.

Sai Masu Gida are currently struggling in the defence. They have missed the services of Stephen Eze, who has moved abroad, injured Emmanuel Anyanwu and late Chinedu Udoji, who died few months ago.

The Pyramid City outfit completed a move for CHAN Eagles assistant captain and central defender, Kalu Orji, from Rivers United last week.

In a chat with SportingLife.ng, Musa admitted that his side’s defensive line-up is the missing link in the team.

“We are having a better season so far but we are encountering difficulties in our defense,” Musa told SportingLife.ng

“Stephen Eze left the team for a club abroad; we lost Chinedu Udoji, to death a few months ago and Emmanuel Anyanwu is injured. They were major part of the squad and we need to have replacements for them.

“We have already signed Kalu Orji and we will bring in two more central defenders. We have identified three players already and we will sign two of them. As soon as we have finalized the deals we will announce them. It is very important to do this if we want to challenge for silverware this season which is actually our target.”
