Nigerian-born United Kingdom, UK-based coach, Obinna Maduike, has tipped Dream Team VI for the final of the 2016 Rio Olympics Men’s Football event in Brazil. Maduike, who is on scholarship in the United States as part of the programme to prepare him  to  acquire the prestigious “UEFA B” football  coaching licence, is thrilled with the performance of Samson Siasia and his boys at the ongoing Rio Olympics where the Nigerian Dream Team VI  progressed to the semi finals of the soccer event.

Injury knocks Oduduwa out of Korea tourney

Ace defender Segun Oduduwa has been knocked out of Nigeria’s U-23 team’s trip to the Suwon Invitational Tournament as a result of injury.

               

Team doctor, Sam Ogbondeminu said Oduduwa suffered the injury after he was badly tackled during one of the team's last training sessions at the practice pitch of the National Stadium, Abuja, disclosing that for now the player has been stabilized.

Makalala joins U-23 camp in Abuja

Lobi Stars' Victor Makalala has been invited to the national U-23 team, Sportinglens.blogspot.com can reveal.

Makalala joined the team’s camp at the Serob Legacy Hotel in Abuja on Thursday ahead of the preparation for the 2016 Rio Olympic men’s football event.

The 22-year-old star went on trials with Georgia FC of Atlanta Georgia, United States of America before he returned back home to join Lobi Stars at the beginning of the season on a year contract.

Rio 2016: Dream Team VI get Japan, Colombia, Sweden draw

Nigeria have been drawn in Group B in the 2016 Rio Olympic Men’s Football Tournament along with 1948 winners Sweden and Japan and Colombia.

The draw was done Thursday at the Maracana and was witnessed by many top football personalities including Dream Team VI coach, Samson Siasia.
