Nigerian-born UK-based coach tips Dream Team VI for final

Nigerian-born United Kingdom, UK-based coach, Obinna Maduike, has tipped Dream Team VI for the final of the 2016 Rio Olympics Men’s Football event in Brazil. Maduike, who is on scholarship in the United States as part of the programme to prepare him  to  acquire the prestigious “UEFA B” football  coaching licence, is thrilled with the performance of Samson Siasia and his boys at the ongoing Rio Olympics where the Nigerian Dream Team VI  progressed to the semi finals of the soccer event.

He said: “With Mikel Obi in the team to give the other members of the squad the required confidence, I am confident that they will make it to the final, and “with focus, they will win the Cup.”

Coach Maduike was contracted recently by the UKInternational, to coach youth summer camps organized by American Youth Soccer Organization. The Youth Soccer Organization has more than 660,000 youth soccer players spread all over the country. It is currently the largest youth sports organization in the US.

Obinna’s selection was also in recognition of his outstanding performances in the coaching of youth teams in England. Obinna, who has spent some weeks in the US is already involved in the coaching of American boys and girls in California, Utah, Texas and New Mexico.

Coach Maduike said in an interview: “My experience in America is something I cannot buy in the market. It has exposed me to more advanced, technical and tactical aspects of coaching in football. I must say that it has established me as a football coach.”
Although the Nigerian was contracted for the summer programme till November, he is expected to return to UK in a matter of days to face the league domestic league assignments.

His club, Miklover Sports Club, not long ago promoted him to manage the under-18 clubside that are competing  in the Derby League, a responsibility he will combine with the coaching of  “the under-14 team  that competes in Midland Premier League which is the highest in standard in England.”
