Katsina United FC Chairman Surajo Malumfashi has craved for more commitment from the players and patience from club’s supporters following the team’s poor start to the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Malumfashi made the charge following what he characterized as a disappointing result in the season's first match on Sunday.
Katsina
United suffered a 0-1 home loss to the newly promoted side Warri Wolves in the
league opener at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
Igbunnu
Evwierhurhoma 76th minute goal was all the Seasiders needed to claim all three
points in the game.
The
chairman praised the players' performance despite the game's outcome,
encouraging both players and the technical crew to do more since the season
only began.
Malumfashi
commended the turnout of the supporters who assembled at Katsina's Muhammadu
Dikko Stadium to cheer the team in the first home match.
He assured
willingness to do all possible to restore the Club's lost glory by inspiring
the players to perform above and beyond expectations.
The
Chairman also expressed his commitment to put a smile on the faces of the
club's thronging fans, claiming that things would improve for the better.
