Niger Tornadoes Technical Adviser, Majin Mohammed has charged his players to go all out for victory against Nasarawa United in Wednesday’s rescheduled matchday 1 fixture at the mainbowl of Rashidi Yekini Stadium (Kwara Sports Complex) Ilorin, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
Mohammed said
his team is aware of what is at stake, being their first NPFL game of the
season and to be played away from home.
"We are not happy that this game is going to be decided outside our home venue, which usually serves as motivation for the players to perform better, but nonetheless, we are used to playing home games away from home, so this is not any different
and we are going to approach it like any other game,"
Mohammed said.
He added: "We
have all the odds in our favour, recalled that last season, we started our NPFL
campaign here in Ilorin and we won by 2-1 and as fortune will have it this
season, we are starting another season here, which implies that the environment
is no longer new to us."
The two
teams played a goalless draw when they squared up in this fixture last season
at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna.
Mohammed
picked four points over his counterpart Mbwas Mangut, then with Plateau United,
as Tornadoes edged the Peace Boys 2-1 in Jos and drew 1-1 in the reversed
fixture in Kaduna.
