3SC’s Afolabi dedicates first goal to fans

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan gangling forward Afolabi Waheed has shown gratitude to the home fans for their unflinching support.

Afolabi opened scoring for the Oluyole Warriors on the stroke of 21st minute in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) opener against the visiting Lobi Stars of Makurdi at the Lekan Salami Sports complex, Adamasingba on Sunday. 3SC won the encounter by 2-0. 

"I dedicate my first league goal this season to the home fans for their massive support. To my teammates for their good team spirit and unity amongst the lads and to the coaches for their belief in the team,” Afolabi said after the match.

The striker went further to express his happiness with the team roster this season which is a mix of experienced and young players. He commended Lobi for giving a good fight all through the duration of the match.


3SC will face their South Western rivals - Sunshine Stars of Akure on Wednesday at the Akure Township Stadium in a match dubbed the 'South-Western Derby.
