Kano Pillars
striker Adamu Muhammed has expressed happiness over his Man-of-the-Match award
handed to him after his side’s 2-1 win over Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) in
the match day three encounter in Kano on Sunday.
Adamu
received 16 votes out of the 20 votes casted by the journalists that covered
the match.
Adamu’s
doubles gave Sai Masu Gida the victory over Oluyole Warriors.
Muhammad
came from the bench in the 39 minute as a replacement for Najim Najare and the
former Gombe United strong man got the equalizer for the home side in the 47
minute. The goal canceled Adewale opener for 3SC.
He scored the final goal at the dot of ninety
minutes to hand Sai Masu Gida the maximum 3 points in the game played at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
An elated
Muhammad thanks Almighty Allah for making it possible to win the match and
dedicated his award to his teammates and entire fans of the club.
Meanwhile
the club’s spokesman Idris Malikawa said the team left Kano on Monday to Akure
for match day 4 against Sunshine FC on Wednesday.
“Our fans
must be commended for their support and calmness at the stadium. We urge them
to maintain the momentum,” Malikawa begged.
