Players and
officials of El Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri arrived in Lagos Friday evening by
Medview Airline ahead of match day 5 of Nigeria Professional Football League
(NPFL) clash against Remo Stars slated for Gateway International Stadium,
Sagamu, Ogun State on Sunday.
The club’s
media officer, Anthony Obaseki confirmed to SportingLife that the delegation arrived
in Lagos around 6:pm with 18 players and 12 officials. Obaseki said the team will connect a bus to Sagamu on Saturday Morning.
The BornoArmy defeated Katsina United 1-0 in the match day four encounter in Maiduguri
on Wednesday and Obaseki said the team’s plan to travel by flight is to prevent
players from tiredness before the game.
“We are now in Lagos and we are going to sagamu Tomorrow. We are
fully prepared and we are targeting points in the game. We played on Wednesday
and it will take long hours to reach Sagamu if we decided to travel by road.
The plan on ground now is that we are traveling by aircraft for the match so as
to make the players look good for the match. The managements have really done
well for the team in terms of welfare. We are not going to underrate Remo
Stars. We will play to win on Sunday. The team is improving game after game now
and they are getting used to themselves very well now. People should expect
good game from our boys on Sunday,” Obaseki told SportingLife.
