Super Eagles and Chelsea midfielder
John Obi Mikel will struck a deal worth £140,000 per-week with Chinese Super
League outfit Tianjin TEDA a source close to the player revealed to
Turkish-Football.
It's understood that Mikel has had his medical with the Chinese outfit and is
close to completing his free transfer.
Mikel has
been closely linked with a move to Turkey over the past few seasons with
Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Galatasaray all expressing an interest.
French
outfit Marseille and La Liga side Valencia were also linked with Mikel over the
winter transfer window.
It does
however, look like Mikel will follow his former teammate Oscar to China. The
Brazilian only recently joined Shanghai SIPG on a £52 million move.
Mikel is the
second longest serving Chelsea player after John Terry at the club and has won
every domestic and European trophy including Europa League and Champions
League.
The Nigerian
international has struggled for playing time under the stewardship of Antonio
Conte – in fact he has not made a single appearance.
