Kano Pillars
confirmed their supremacy over Katsina United on Friday after humiliating their opponent 4-1 to reach the final of the maiden edition of the Ahlan pre-season tournament
in Kano, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
Two goals
from Junior Lokosa and one goal each from Rabia Ali and Fahad Usman was all Sai
Masu Gida needed to prove their dominance over their neighbours. Muhammad Husseini got a consolation goal for Katsina
United.
The result
means the coach Ibrahim Musa tutored side maintains their unbeaten record
in the tournament. The Pyramid City side played six matches so far, winning five and
drew one.
Kano Pillars
will meet the winner of the second semi final clash between Akwa United and El
Kanemi in the final clash on Sunday at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano. The second
semi final is billed to hold on Saturday by 4pm.
The club’s
media officer, Idris Malikawa said his team has all it takes to win the
tournament.
“It is a
testing ground for our team ahead of the 2018 Nigeria Professional Football
League. We have played 12 matches unbeaten now since our pre-season tournament
in Ilorin. We are aiming to win this trophy too,” Malikawa said to
SportingLife.
