Chief Coach, Mbwas Mangut has confirmed his team’s readiness for the 2018
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) which commence on January 14, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
Mangut said the
pre-season campaign has really helped to prepare the team for the league
challenges, stressing that his team is 98 per cent ready for the league kick
off
“We are doing fine as far as our preparation
for the new season is concerned. The players are responding well to the
training. We had lots of pre-season friendly matches and we did well in all the
pre-season tournaments we participated. I can tell you that the team is set for
the league with what we have been able to do so far,” Mangut said to
Sportinglens.blogspot.com .
The Big
Elephants had beefed-up its squad with additional 18 new players as a way to better the
team's last season performances.
Mangut said the
seriousness and dedication shown by the new players has made the team more competitive for selection.
“There is
lots of seriousness in the team now. The new players have shown that they are
here for business. Their seriousness has woken up the old players to the realisation that they have to step up
their games. It is interesting to say that we have three capable players in all
departments and if you want to make the team you have to fight for it. The team
is more competitive now,” he said.
