Abia
Warriors manager Rafael Everton is confident that his wards will adhere to his
new philosophy before the commencement of the Nigeria Professional Football
League (NPFL) in January, Sportinglens.blogspot.com understands.
The Brazilian
coach, who led FC IfeanyiUbah to the Federation Cup victory in 2016, returned
to the Nigerian league few months ago when he was appointed to replace
Abdullahi Biffo.
The club’s
media officer, Igwe Onuoha, who is at the team’s camp in Umuahia said the coach
is pleased with the work-rate of his players in the training, stressing that
every player is working very hard to get use to the new tactics.
“The team is
training twice a day now and they are responding to the new philosophy coach
Everton is bringing into the team. The coach is really doing everything to
prepare the team very well for the new season," Onuoha said to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
"After the South South/South East
pre-season cup tournament, Coach Everton expressed his happiness with the level of players' understanding to his new philosophy.
"He said that if they are not 100 per with his new formation now, he
is hopeful that before the league kicks off they will stick to his plans
100 per cent.
"The new philosophy requires more energy because all players have
to work for the ball. It is not usual 4-4-2 formation we were used to. It is a
Barcelona style of play and it is involves everybody,” Onuoha echoed Everton
words to Sportinglens.blogspot.com.
