.Wants Rohr to study their games

Former AS Monaco of France forward Victor Ikpeba has warned Nigeria not to underrate Iceland and Croatia in their World Cup group matches, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.

Nigeria have been drawn to play against Argentina, Iceland and Croatia in the Group B after Friday 2018 FIFA World Cup draws in Mosscow.

Ikpeba, who was part of the Eagles’ squad at the USA ’94 and France 98 World Cup, said Super Eagles technical crew led by Gernot Rohr should start preparation for their group opponents without delay by studding their style of play for easy game during the tournament proper.

“Iceland won’t be a pushover. Croatia won’t be a pushover too and we should not look at the two teams as whipping teams in our group. They (Nigeria) have to study how Iceland and Croatia plays their game so as to have an edge ahead of them. There is no minnow in the world of football again. We must try and pick maximum points in the first two matches. Maybe Argentina will want to beat Nigeria for pride. So if we can win the first two games the last game will just be a formality for us,” Ikpeba said.

Ikpeba, who also helped Eagles won the 1994 African Nations Cup and the Olympic football gold medal in 1996, believes that experience would play an important role during the tournament.

“Experience is very important. Experience will count for our team. Can they withstand the crowd? That is where the experience will come to play. We have are a very strong team and we should be selfish at the world Cup,” he added.
