Dalung lauds Peak Milk for National Stadium Gym Renovation

The minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung has commended Peak Milk from the stable of FrieslandCampina WAMCO for renovating the paralympians’ power-lifting gym at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.


Dalung gave this commendation during the handover ceremony of the renovated gym held at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on Friday.

“The newly renovated gym, which is now of world-class standard would further inspire athletes, especially our para-powerlifting Team to continue to push the limits of excellence by winning more laurels for Nigeria,” Dalung said.

Minister however called on other corporate bodies to emulate FrieslandCampina WAMCO and the peak brand by partnering with government at all levels to support sports development in the country.

In his remarks, the Managing Director FrieslandCampina WAMCO, Mr Ben Langat said that the brand took up the challenge to renovate the stadium, to use the story of the Paralympians to inspire and motivate other Nigerians across all walks of life.

“We were inspired by the achievement of theparalympians whose willpower, drive and self-motivation to win against all odds have seen them shine despite the obsolete and non-functional gym equipment and facilities they had to use in the past. They have shown us all that regardless of whatever challenges we face, with determination, we can always reach for our Peak,” Langat said.

Langat then charged the Para-Powerlifting Team which is currently ranked No 1 in the world to make good use of the newly installed world class gym equipment and continuously make the country proud through several record breaking achievements.

Head coach of Nigeria’s Para-Powerlifting Team, Feyisatan Are heaped praises on Peak Milk for coming to the aid of the athletes by transforming the National stadium gym into world-class facility and for also supporting the team with monthly supply of milk products.
