Kano Pillars to get N1m bonus for away win

Players and technical crew of Kano Pillars Football Club will receive additional N1million as bonus for winning any away match in the forthcoming 2017/18 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

The State Government through the State Sports Commission chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, made the declaration while receiving the management, players and technical crew of the club in his office on Thursday.

Galadima said the gesture is to motivate the team to do well in the coming season.

"Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was ready to do anything possible to see that the Sai Masu Gida is back to winning ways. If you can recall Dr. Ganduje led this team twice and won the league back-to-back as Deputy Governor, so is time to pay him back as a Governor by winning the league," Galadima said.

He commended the team for wining two pre season tournaments at the close of last year and urged them to put this success aside and be focused on the challenges ahead of them.

Earlier, the club's chairman, Tukur Babangida, said they were in his office to present to him the trophies they won in Ilorin, Kwara State and the one hosted in the State, tagged Gold Cup and Ahlan pre-season tournaments respectively.

Babangida congratulated Galadima for his new appointment as the Chairman of the National Institute of Sports by President Muhammad Buhari, which he described as a well deserved appointment.

He also commended Governor Ganduje, the State Sports Commission and the fans of the club for their support to the team, and hoping they will sustain the tempo.

Babangida said 34 players have been registered for the season while assuring that his board would not disappoint the government and people of the State.

In his remark, the Technical Adviser of the club Ibrahim A. Musa pledged to justify the confidence repose in them and thanked the management and players for the cooperation given to him and other staff.
