Sergio
Aguero joined a special club after scoring his 150th Premier League goal for
Manchester City. The
Argentine is only the third player in the Premier League era to reach the goal
tally for a single club.
Aguero
etched his name into history after finding the back of the net during City's
league clash against Southampton on Sunday.
Only Arsenal
icon Thierry Henry and Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney had scored 150
league goals for a single club prior to Aguero's strike against the Saints.
Aguero still
has some way to go if he wants to catch both players, though, with Henry having
scored 175 in total for Arsenal, while Rooney netted 183 for United.
The forward
scored on what was also his 217th league appearance for City, who he joined
from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
And only
Alan Shearer managed to score 150 league goals in less games than Aguero, with
the former Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers man needing just 212 matches
to do so.
