Galatasaray of Turkey striker Henry Onyekuru believes that the Super Eagles
are now a force to be reckoned with in the continent following the team’s
qualification for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon,

The Eagles secured their place in the continental showpiece for the
first time since 2013 after securing a 1-1 draw against South Africa in their
Group E qualifier at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday.
Buhle Mkhwanazi put the ball into his own net to give Nigeria the lead
after nine minutes, but South Africa equalised through their Strasbourg forward
Lebo Mothiba in the 26th.
Onyekuru, who came on as a late substitute for the team’s captain
Ahmed Musa in the 87 minutes of action, congratulated the team for their had
earned qualification.
The K.A.S. Eupen of Belgium forward posted on his official twitter
handle @henryconyekuru that the Super Eagles will make Nigeria proud at the
AFCON tournament.
“We are
back! Huge congratulations to the team for the performance last night. We qualified for the #AFCON2019 and cannot
wait to make the country proud??,” Oyekuru twitted.
Super Eagles are returning to the competition after their absence in
2015 and 2017.
Nigeria have 10 points from five games at the top of the group, with
South Africa in second on nine points, two ahead of Libya with one round to go.
