Wikki Tourists technical Adviser Adamu Abdullahi has resigned from his position a month after his appointment, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports.
The former
Green Beret FC of Zaria manager tendered his resignation letter on Monday
following his team’s home defeat to Bayelsa United in the Nigeria Premier Football
League (NPFL) match day 13 fixture on Sunday in Bauchi.
In a letter addressed to the club’s chairman, Abdullahi cited interference from the management as reason behind his decision, insisting that he has not been accorded the opportunity to fully exercise the functions as Technical Adviser since he assumed the duty last month.
He added
that the management unprofessional act has rendered him helpless to perform his
duty, the action he said, affected the recent performance of the Club and also
threatening his career.
The letter read in parts: “You may wish to recall that since I assumed duty as Technical Adviser, I have not been accorded the opportunity to fully exercise the functions of the office of Technical Adviser due to Management's interference and inability to take their responsibilities during league matches, which is a public knowledge.
“This action of the management has rendered me helpless thereby affecting the recent performance of the Club and also threatening my career.
“Consequently,
based on the above stated reason. I hereby resign my Appointment as Technical
Adviser with immediate effect.
“I wish to
also register my appreciation to the management for opportunity given to me to
serve as Technical Adviser to Wikki Tourists F.C. Thank you. Sincerely yours.”
Adamu took
over from Kabiru Dogo, who also resigned from the club to join Kwara United. Adamu
was the team’s Chief Coach before his appointment as Technical Adviser.
Interestingly,
Wikki Tourists occupied ninth position in the Group B table when Abdullahi took
over the leadership of the team last month and the team was placed in the same
position when he parted company with the club this afternoon.
The young tactician previously worked with Zaria-based Nigeria National League side, Green Beret FC.
He also once had a stint with Katsina United as an assistant coach before his second spell in charge of Wikki Tourists.
