Adamu sees positive signs in victory over Dakkada

Wikki Tourists Coach Abdullahi Adamu has said that his players are beginning to adhere to his style of football following their 3-1 win over Dakkada in the match day 12 fixture in Bauchi on Sunday, Sportinglens.blogspot.com reports. 

Amah Chibundu opened the scoring in the 21th minute when he benefitted from a long pass from Zulkifilu in the 18-yard box and wasted no time by beating opponents defensive line to slot in the first goal for WIkki Tourists.

Dakkada fought back with all their strength and their efforts were crowned with an equaliser in the 43th minute when Prosper Ifeanyi headed home the goal from a corner kick that caught Wikki goalkeeper off guard.

Pressure mounted on the visitors could not give a second goal for the home team as they retired to the dressing room for the first half break with scores at 1-1.

Nine minutes into the second half Salisu Ibrahim Magaji send the stadium into ecstasy with his thunderbolt shot that gave Wikki Tourists the second goal in 54th minute putting Wikki Tourists in the lead once again.

Chibundu was on hand again in the 72th minute when he scored his second goal in the match and the third for WIkki Tourists through a cross by Abubakar Aliyu from the right wing worsening the situation for the visitors.

The general impressive performance by the rejuvenated kaura boys was also appreciated by the supporters who cheered them till end of the game which stood at 3-1.

In a post-match interview, Adamu commended the impressive performance of his rejuvenated boys.

“It was a good match and we are happy with the result. This is the first time in the league that we scored three goals and we hope to continue like that till end of the Season In Sha Allah,” Adamu said.

He added: “What you saw in the game was a result of hard work and commitment by all concerned in the team and we appreciate it.”

Wikki Tourists next match will be another encounter at home against Bayelsa United on Sunday in Bauchi.
