Abongile Tom to officiate Rivers United vs Young Africans game

South African referee Abongile Tom has been appointed to be in charge of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter final first leg clash between Rivers United and Young Africans of Tanzania on Sunday in Uyo.

The 31 year old Cape Town-born has been a stand-out referee in his country and most recently was in Algeria during CHAN.

Tow will be assisted by Ivanildo Meirelles de Oliveira Sanches (Angola) as AR1, Abelmiro Dos Reis Monte Negro (Sao Tome) AR11, R.R Djindo Louis Houngnandande (Benin) as reserve referee.

Others are Hamza El Fariq (Morocco) who is in charge of VAR and Adil Zourak (Morocco) AVAR.
